Sonoma Childrens Garden
“Many things grow in the garden that were never sown there”
-Thomas Fuller 1732
Children’s sense of place is shaped by where they live and grow. Their early experiences in nature help children form relationships to the world and to make connections to the land which remain with them throughout their lives.

The Sonoma Children’s Garden provides a place for children to run, touch, build, and splash. The garden highlights how the natural environment presents opportunities to play, to interact in nature and with natural materials. The garden also offers sensory stimulation and physical activities tied to specific stages of a child’s development. Whether it’s listening to the recordings of owls or building nests or rustling among grapevines and cooling off under a mist, the new Garden was inspired by the landscape of Sonoma. Families will enjoy visiting the garden together many times — finding new activities and insights each time.
Come play in our garden!
